This is an exciting opportunity within a dynamic and growing tertiary education provider, and one of the largest Academic Partners in the University of the Highlands and Islands (UHI) partnership.

You will assist with laboratory research work, providing technical laboratory assistance, on specified projects with the River and Lochs Institute. This includes working with other academics and research postgraduates in the project research team for the project to achieve specified goals and outcomes. You will support other research and knowledge exchange activity, where appropriate within the subject area.

As an ideal candidate, you will have experience of working in a practical molecular laboratory situation with DNA based analyses; experience of organising and undertaking molecular screening, including undertaking routine screening, data collation and storage, and coordinating day to day laboratory operations; and proven competence as a laboratory worker with experience and skills in using basic molecular genomics equipment i.e. centrifuge, PCR machines.

The successful candidate will hold a good degree in a relevant discipline and a willingness and ability to undertake and/or continue professional development in a relevant discipline.
