Progress Coach- Legal and Finance

36 hours per week; term time only

As a sixth form college, we aim to deliver a significant and long-standing positive impact on our students, for both their academic success and future careers.

Working within a curriculum pathway, our Progress Coaches play an important role in supporting and enabling students to achieve their full potential. As a Progress coach for our Legal and Finance Pathway, your work will be varied and you will predominantly work with students who have study programmes with a Law or Maths emphasis.  

You will provide support to students both individually and in small groups, in order to improve their academic progress. You will also develop links with external organisations and arrange trips and activities, which complement the pathway subject areas and support students’ career aspirations. Supporting the UCAS application process and running workshops will also be an important part of this role.

As an individual, you should have a good understanding of young people, post-16 education and effective study skills. You should also have experience of providing support to young people. You will have the ability to understand complex issues, assess student needs and respond accordingly. The ability to foster positive working relationships, as well as plan and organise events, is also key.
