With a proposed new campus development and College merger, fantastic vocational technical facilities, and a dedicated University Centre, the time has never been better to join our team at Stockport College.

This is a really valuable post for both Stockport College and the future merger, and will be reporting to our Dean of HE, with significant experience of driving improvements in the size, quality and reputation of HE provision – with the aim of changing lives for the better, and meeting local higher level skills needs. The post has become available with the previous post holder gaining promotion at a local University.

We are committed to providing a high quality student experience, through a well-planned curriculum offer, enhanced by our “links with local employers are made strategically and used to inform curriculum planning and programme development” (QAA, 2017). Our focus is on ensuring positive student outcomes in to employment, and in doing so, meeting local higher level vocational, technical and professional skills.

Our external Quality Assurance Review (QAA, 2017) confirmed confidence in our  academic standards the quality of the student academic experience, with the HEFCE (Funding Body) reporting that the student experience is of high quality and student outcomes are generally good or excellent.

The externally published TEF (Teaching Excellence Framework) metrics are very positive, with student continuation, achievement rates and satisfaction above  local and the national average. Alongside this, over 97% are in employment or further study 6-months after completion (DLHE survey).

We are passionate about transforming lives for the better, with a dedicated and well-experienced team of staff who will support you on your journey. Students benefit from a generous tutorial entitlement (QAA, 2017) with students commenting favourably on the significant formal and informal support available to them (QAA, 2017) … ensuring that you reach your potential.

Community is at the centre of what we do, with all programmes engaging in real life and exciting community-led projects that really enrich the student experience and skills, alongside supporting those around us. Alongside this “employability skills are embedded within programmes” (QAA, 2017), including high quality work placements and live project briefs for employers and community causes.
