Perth College UHI is one of Scotland’s leading Colleges of Further and Higher Education, and a large partner in Scotland’s newest University, the University of the Highlands and Islands.
Perth College UHI is an ambitious College providing further and higher education to a wide community including international provision. The College currently delivers a one year PDGE Primary Education programme and from November 2017 will be the lead academic partner in UHI for the Teaching Qualification Practitioner Route (TQPR). This new initial teaching qualification is a part-time distance learning programme at SCQF Level 11, designed for people teaching mainly in the independent sector who from October 2017 are required to register with the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS). The TQPR is a Masters level diploma that engages participants with professionalism, curriculum, pedagogy and policy before supporting them to lead a practice based enquiry and evidence the Standard for Full Registration. Successful participants will leave the programme as registered teachers for their sector/ subject, fully engaged with the suite of GTCS standards and aware of their professional responsibilities as GTCS registered teachers.
The programme begins with an induction day on Saturday 28th October 2017, but after that will be taught in the online space, with part-time tutors supporting participants through regular webinars and the journal space in One Note.
We would welcome applications from individuals who are teachers, with active GTCS registration and a Masters degree who are interested in working as a tutor on the programme. We are particularly interested in forward thinking and proactive individuals, with experience of professional learning in education who are interested in working as a tutor with a wide range of teachers from the independent sector.
You require to hold current GTCS registration as a teacher, a Masters degree and commitment to professional learning. It is desirable to have experience of leading professional learning in school, authority or in a University.
If you wish to be considered as a lecturer for this programme, or for more information on the post, please visit the Perth College website and apply online.
