University Centre Peterborough
Salary: £35,000-£40,000
3 Year Fixed Term, Full-Time
Peterborough sits within a Higher Education Cold Spot and is one of the largest conurbations in the UK without a university. The creation of a University in the City is a longstanding aspiration which forms part of the devolution deal for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. The establishment of the proposed University is a long term undertaking, which will be built on the current activities of the University Centre Peterborough (UCP). Our vision is for Peterborough to establish a thriving, independent, campus-based university with an undergraduate population of 12,500 students, which will become a powerhouse for economic and intellectual growth, outward looking but rooted in the ingenuity and diversity of its people.
As part of the evolving University for Peterborough Curriculum Strategy, UCP seeks to appoint a high quality Academic Lead for the development of new Higher and Degree Level Apprenticeships.
Educated at Level 7 (Master’s Degree or relevant Professional Qualification) the successful candidate will have extensive experience in developing proactive business relationships and will have an in depth understanding of the current higher education and apprenticeship landscapes. The ability to communicate with and interpret the needs of industry partners in the development of new apprenticeships provision will be key to the success of this role.
With a specialist knowledge in one of the initial key curriculum areas to be developed; Education, Business/Finance or Engineering, candidates must display a willingness to work with colleagues across all faculties. To this point, the ability to be adaptable, persuasive and to communicate effectively will be crucial. In return we offer a friendly and supportive working environment which includes generous holiday entitlements and a contributory pension scheme.
This position provides a unique opportunity for a motivated and talented individual to be part of this exciting new chapter in the provision of higher education in the Peterborough area. For informal enquiries please contact Daniel Cole at universityproject@peterborough.ac.uk
