This post is for an enthusiastic and committed lecturer who will have a specialist teaching and tutoring commitment to students on the level 6 top up in Interior Design with Sustainability, validated by Manchester Metropolitan University.
The successful candidate will be joining a small, friendly team whose aim is to nurture individuals in the solving of creative problems through interior design, with a focus on sustainable practice.
The programmes offer an exciting, practical, work based learning experience for students interested in commercial interior design with an emphasis on sustainability.
They will plan, implement and evaluate own teaching with reference to the needs of the students and the requirements of the awarding bodies, carry out all required administration and assessment associated with own teaching, continually review student progress and help students to action plan in order to achieve high academic standards.
The successful candidate will have a background in interior design, and preferably in teaching at HE level. They will have a degree in a relevant subject area. An understanding of both traditional and digital processes is necessary, as is knowledge of contemporary interior design and its broad applications. Experience of teaching at H.E. level, and relevant industry experience is desirable, as we aim to provide real-world experiences and prepare our students for life after Higher Education.
Although the post is temporary the school is entering a concerted period of growth and programme development. This is a good opportunity for someone with an aspiration to teach at a high level perhaps alongside commercial practice and would provide excellent experience working in a supportive environment.
We are particularly keen to reflect the diverse population of the College and welcome applications from suitably experienced individuals irrespective of racial origin, age, sex or disability.
