Workplace Tutor – Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical)

37 hours per week

Location: Dearne Valley College or North Notts College, plus surrounding areas

This is an opportunity to join one of the largest college groups in the country and to work supporting and assessing Engineering apprentices from some of the UK’s best employers. If you have experience of delivering or assessing apprenticeships in mechanical or electrical engineering then this may be the job for you.

You should be qualified to deliver in either mechanical or electrical engineering but flexibility to cover other disciplines would be advantageous. You should have completed a recognised Assessor qualification (D32/33, A1 or TAQA). An IQA and/or Teaching qualification would be an advantage but is not essential, but you must be prepared to work towards. Although the role will be focused on intermediate and advanced level programmes a willingness to support higher level apprentices would be beneficial.

Working as part of our Work Based Learning team, your key tasks will include the support and assessment of competence based qualifications within Apprenticeship programmes in your selected areas. You will need to be able to build good relationships, manage a caseload of apprentices and communicate effectively with a diverse range of people and organisations. Most of the role will take place at Employer sites across an agreed geographical region, therefore driving licence and access to a car is required to enable you to fulfil this role.

RNN Group provides excellent training and development opportunities, competitive conditions of employment including a generous annual leave entitlement and eligibility to join one of the few final salary pension schemes still available.
