Working week: 40 hours per week over 7 days, shift occur from 8.30am - 10.30pm
The role of the commis chef is to assist in all aspects of the food preparation whilst developing their skills in order to be able to take more responsibility and deputise for others, for example during holidays.
Responsibilities:
- To assist in the overall operation of the kitchen: food preparation & service; hygiene and stock control.
- To prepare food for service to the specification requirement.
- To maintain a high level of hygiene in working practices at all times.
- To receive deliveries and maintaining stock in a diligent and hygienic manner.
- To operate kitchen equipment in a safe manner.

- Ability to focus on attention to detail.
- High standards of personal presentation.
- Confident and courteous in dealings with customers and other team members.
- Hardworking, committed and willing to learn and develop.
- Flexible in the approach to the business needs (tasks, hours and responsibilities).
Personal qualities:
- Ability to work unsupervised in the Head Chef’s absence.
- Willingness to contribute to the development of new menu ideas.
- A flair for cooking and presenting food to a high standard.
Qualifications required:
- GSCE grade D or equivalent in Maths and English.
