This is an exciting time to join the College and our Schools, Recruitment and Guidance team are looking for a new School Liaison Advisor on a permanent (37 hours per week) full time basis.

  • To be responsible for helping to achieve the college 14 - 19, Apprenticeship and Higher Education recruitment targets through building effective relationships with key contacts across the education sector including schools, sixth forms and other organisations.
  • Ability to effectively engage and communicate with young people, parents, school and curriculum staff to inspire career choices.
  • To be responsible for planning, delivering and reporting on the pupil/student application and recruitment.
  • Continually develop knowledge of study programmes, career pathways and local competition to effectively promote the wider college offer.
  • To lead in identifying extra-curricular opportunities for accessing young people to further promote college provision.
  • Develop knowledge of curriculum areas and have a proactive approach to the promotion of study programs.
  • Working within Matrix accreditation guidelines to support schools/sixth form students by providing a high quality careers guidance service. 
  • To be responsible for further developing and maintaining links through supporting the effective development of a CRM system, to monitor and measure contact.

The role of a School Liaison Advisor is to be responsible for effective student recruitment through increasing awareness and raising the profile of The Manchester College as a key provider of 14-19, Adult, Apprenticeship (via Total People) and HE course provision. Ensuring effective representation to schools/academies/sixth forms in the city of Manchester and beyond through relationship building with key school contacts, supporting colleagues and by promoting our study programmes to school staff, pupils, parents and other key partners.

Qualifications, skills and experience:

  • Level 3 Qualification in Advice and Guidance or willing to work towards it;
  • Previous educational, marketing or sales experience would be an advantage;
  • IT literate, with excellent data handling and analysis skills;
  • Excellent presentation, communication and customer service skills.

Job specific skills:

  • Clear written and verbal communication skills;
  • Ability to manage delegated tasks and workload effectively;
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross college team environment and establish positive relationship.
