We currently have a College full-time Library Assistant vacancy to support the day to day work of our Head Librarian.
You will work in a front of house role, providing a high standard of service to our users. Responsibilities will include answering a wide range of inquiries in person and via our online inquiry management system, the operation of circulation services, welcoming library users, registering new users and creating user records.
The standard working day is 9.30 – 17.30, but you will normally work at least one early shift per week (9.00 – 5.00) and one late shift until no later than 21.00. You will also work one weekend day (Saturday 9.00 – 5.00 or Sunday 11.00 – 18.00) on a termly rota, usually once every 4 weeks. There may be occasional need to cover other service points for other departments at our campus.
You will have at least a degree or equivalent qualification and good experience of providing a front line library service. Good communication (spoken and written) and interpersonal skills are essential.
