An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the Maths and English Cross College team. The team is responsible for delivering GCSE and Functional Skills Maths and English to learners from all Curriculum Areas across the College as part of our learners' full-time programme of study or apprenticeship.

We are looking to appoint a dynamic and enthusiastic Lecturer who can deliver high quality teaching and learning to meet the diverse needs of our 16-18 year old learners in both GCSE English Language and Functional Skills English.

With relevant experience and educated to degree level (or equivalent), you will also be educated to Level 2 minimum in Maths and English (GCSE Grade C or above, GCSE Grade 4 or above or equivalent).  You will have experience teaching both GCSE and Functional Skills English with high achievement rates in both subjects.

You will be expected to develop lesson plans to meet individual learner needs and deliver innovative lessons that motivate and enthuse learners who may have previously struggled with English in school. You will create interesting and engaging resources that help contextualise the subject and facilitate learning. You will routinely monitor learner progress, setting individualised targets to ensure learners are developing their knowledge and skills.

You will have a flexible attitude to working as some evening and non-term time teaching may be required to fit the requirements of the department. The ability to prioritise your workload to meet deadlines and timely completion of paperwork is essential.
