Facilities Manager

Leeds Arts University is now recognised as the only specialist arts university in the North of England. We have contributed significantly to the development of arts education for over 170 years, and have developed a national and international reputation based on the achievements of our students and staff. Leeds Arts University has been formally recognised as the new title for Leeds College of Art, after being granted full university status by the Privy Council.

The post holder will manage the hands on operational service delivery of the University’s Estate and to assist the Head of Estates in delivering the Strategic Project programme and improved Estates services. You will have direct line management responsibilities for the Facilities Supervisor, University reception team and the post of Estates Co-ordinator.

The post holder will support the Head of Estates with a wide ranging number of projects, as well as being responsible for managing day to day operations including - contractors, suppliers, pre-planned maintenance, hard and soft facilities services, security, event planning, and logistics. You will be required to deputise for the Head of Estates and in their absence provide continuity and progression minimising disruption to work flow.

The successful candidate will be educated to degree level and/or hold an equivalent Facilities Management Qualification. They should have both knowledge and experience of Facilities Management having worked in a facilities management role for at least 3 years as well as able to demonstrate a high level of interpersonal skills in dealing tactfully and confidentially with a range of people.
