Landmark is a well-established programme for students with moderate learning difficulties and is designed to enable young people with EHCPs to make a successful transition from school to work, further training and/or independent living opportunities. This is achieved through giving the students access to the college’s wide range of vocational and community resources, with practical and Life-Skills taught alongside Functional Skills in English, Maths and ICT in small, appropriately supported groups. Students can tailor their own personalised study-programme through a range of options including Gardening, Horse Care, Horse Riding, Animal Care, Art, Music, Sports Studies, Construction, Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Cookery/Food Studies.

As an SSA you will be supporting students on the Landmark programme in both practical and classroom-based sessions, as well as monitoring their safety throughout the college day. You will support our specialist teachers in delivering high quality teaching and learning, carrying out assessments and reviews and supporting students through their qualifications. You may also be required to support learners on other sections of our Oaklands SEND provision, such as LLW and Supported Learning.
