Lecturer, English, Part Time, 18.5 hours per week, Maternity cover.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the Adult Science and Humanities team. The team is responsible for delivering full time adult GCSE resit programmes and Access to Higher Education Diplomas to adult learners.

We are looking to appoint a dynamic and enthusiastic Lecturer who can deliver high quality teaching and learning to meet the diverse needs of our learners in GCSE English and Level 3 English for academic study within Access to Higher Education Diploma programmes.

With relevant experience and educated to degree level in English or a related subject, you will have teaching experience and a teaching qualification, or be willing to obtain one. You will also be educated Level 2 minimum in Math (GCSE Grade C or above, GCSE Grade 4 or above or equivalent).

You will be expected to develop group profiles to meet individual learner needs and deliver innovative lessons that motivate and enthuse learners who may have previously struggled with English and are returning to education after a break. You will create interesting and engaging resources that help contextualise the subject and facilitate learning. You will routinely monitor learner progress, setting individualised targets to ensure learners are developing their knowledge and skills.

You will have a flexible attitude to working as some evening and non-term time teaching may be required. The ability to prioritise your workload to meet deadlines and timely completion of paperwork is essential.
