Due to the growing popularity of the outstanding courses the Equine Department at Hadlow College we have an exciting opportunity for a capable and dynamic new Lecturer to join the team at our main site in Hadlow.

The successful applicant will be involved in the delivery of a range of equine courses in Further and Higher Education and therefore must have practical experience of working in the equine industry, plus teaching experience in a practical and/or classroom setting.  The minimum requirements for this role are a Level 4 equine qualification or above and a teaching certificate, or the willingness to work towards one. The College will support new unqualified lecturers with a reduced teaching commitment in their first year. Those staff will receive a bonus of £600.00 in the third year and £750.00 in their fourth year providing they have successfully gained their full teaching qualification at Hadlow College.

In addition to the minimum, requirements detailed above, candidates will also need a keen interest in a wide range of equine related subjects, excellent communication and IT skills and the ability to work well as part of a team. Literacy and numeracy skills at Level 2 or equivalent are also essential.

This role is initially part time, working 30 hours per week: however, following successful completion of a probation period there may be opportunities for additional hours.

As well as a contributory pension scheme, a health cash plan, salary sacrifice scheme and free car parking, this post also attracts 7 weeks holiday each year, pro rata, excluding bank holidays.

The successful candidate will be required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Check and provide proof of their right to work in the UK. Where applicable, a prohibition check will be carried out.
