We are one of the largest Further Education Colleges in the UK with more than 22,000 learners studying with us on a wide range of courses. Our mission is to equip people with the skills they need to be successful in education, in work and business and in their personal lives.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the Maths and English Cross College team. The team is responsible for delivering Functional Skills Maths and English to learners from all Curriculum Areas across the College as part of our learners' full-time programme of study or apprenticeship. This role will predominantly involve intensive and short term delivery of Functional Skills Maths and English to learners on apprenticeships.

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Lecturer who can deliver high quality teaching and learning to meet the diverse needs of our learners in both Functional Skills Maths and English.

With relevant experience and educated to degree level (or equivalent). You will also be educated to Level 2 minimum in Maths and English (GCSE Grade C or above, GCSE Grade 4 or above or equivalent).  You will have experience teaching both GCSE and Functional Skills Maths with high achievement rates in both subject areas.

You will be expected to develop lesson plans to meet individual learner needs and deliver innovative lessons that motivate and enthuse learners who may have previously struggled with Maths and English in school. You will create interesting and engaging resources that help contextualise the subject and facilitate learning. You will routinely monitor learner progress, setting individualised targets to ensure learners are developing their knowledge and skills.

You will have a flexible attitude to working as some evening and non-term time teaching may be required to fit the requirements of employers. The ability to prioritise your workload to meet deadlines and timely completion of paperwork is essential.
