The perfect role for animal lovers! Work closely with our diverse range of animals including canines, felines, small and large mammals, aquatics, invertebrates, avians, reptiles, exotics and other specialist animal facilities.

The department is currently reviewing its strategy to develop a broader range of exotic species so this is an exciting time to join us. This is an important post involving both technical support for the Animal Centre alongside delivering practical demonstrations/instruction to students. It offers opportunities for personal development and growing responsibilities within the department.

As an Instructor Technician, you will create an innovative and practical learning environment to enable students to achieve their full potential in relation to facilities and resources available to them and support the teaching staff. You will carry out training and assessment for learners to complete a range of husbandry tasks and develop teaching resources for Animal Welfare such as animal identification posters, health care sheets, diet plans and enrichment activities. You will work liaise with staff and the Veterinary Surgeon to ensure the animals are well treated and you’ll attend to their needs including feeding, cleaning and general health checks. You will be educated to Level 3 in Animal Welfare of Veterinary Nursing and have equivalent industry experience in an animal welfare environment. You will be Teacher Qualified or willing to achieve CET (1 year programme) within 3 years of commencement.
