Lecturer in Civil Engineering

We are looking to recruit an outstanding lecturer in Civil Engineering to join the team. The successful candidate would be required to teach on a range of Construction Management and Civil Engineering programmes at Level 3, 4 and 5 delivering a range of subjects. Our largest provision is BTEC Diploma and HNC and we also run a Degree programme with Hertfordshire University. We have a large number of students and apprentices who attend on full time and day release programmes.

The ideal candidate will have excellent understanding of surveying, particularly land surveying, science and Building Information Modelling (BIM). The role will also involve participation in the quality assurance process for part of the Construction Management and Civil Engineering provision.

You should have a strong commitment to high standards of classroom practice and experience of teaching, or working with young people. You will have a genuine regard for young people and want to work with us to ensure that all our students aspire to do well. You will demonstrate and professional standards in your area of work. The ability to work in a team is essential, sharing good practice and working collaboratively with colleagues are qualities that we will be looking for.

To be considered for this role, you will need to have at least a Level 4 qualification in the subject area and ideally a level 5 teaching qualification (Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training or equivalent)

Full Time – 37 hours per week

Based at Welwyn Garden City

42 days’ holiday + bank holidays

Salary; £29,443 – £32,001 per annum Depending on Experience – Includes a market supplement
