Salary: £31,147 - £37,791
Perth College UHI is one of Scotland’s leading Colleges of Further and Higher Education, and a large partner in Scotland’s newest University, the University of the Highlands and Islands.
We are looking for an experienced avionics engineer to join our growing team. Ideally with management knowledge having worked in a managerial role within the industry. The role will support the teaching of Engineering and Aviation programmes, from National Certificate level to Masters Degree.
The campus is well resourced to deliver a first-class learning experience with a well-balanced mix of lecture theatres, classrooms, laboratories and training workshops.
As a lecturer you will contribute to shaping the future of the next generation of engineers through teaching and other scholarly activities such as research and consultancy. Within your specialisation, you will be responsible for:
- Preparing materials for learning, teaching and assessment;
- Teaching of theory and practical aspects;
- Supervising student project work;
- Contributing to the development of the UHI programmes in engineering.
The post will also involve the development of, and delivery on, elements of our international programmes. Potentially including limited in-country delivery.
Opportunities for personal development are available through UHI and at other universities.
Candidates should hold a minimum of an Honours Degree in an Engineering discipline. Previous teaching experience is desirable as is an ability to teach across broader aviation disciplines. Practical industrial experience would be a strong advantage.
In addition, you should be a well-motivated self-starter with good communication skills who is able to work effectively with a team. A strong customer-focus and an awareness of the engineering requirements of industry are essential.
