Hourly Paid Lecturer in Game Art & Graphic Design

We are seeking to appoint an adaptable and self motivated individual to the role of FE Lecturer focusing upon 3D modelling and visual effects. This is an exciting opportunity to join an expanding area of the curriculum, which boasts continued learner success and achievement.  The role will involve module leadership that requires delivering lectures from a varied range of modules, covering all aspects of the 3D Games and Graphic Design curriculum. You will also be expected to maintain all relevant programme associated documentation. 

The successful candidate must:

  • Have specifically worked at an FE level of 2 and 3.
  • Have relevant experience of working in the games industry as a 3D modeller or Level designer
  • Hold a degree or equivalent in the related subject.
  • Hold a relevant teaching qualification or be willing to achieve within a set time period.
  • Be highly skilled in MAYA or other 3D software, supplemented with strong 2D skills
  • Have experience of Unreal 4 or Unity games engines, including AR or VR workflows. 
  • Have a current understanding of gaming technology, applications, use of new technologies within the gaming industry
  • Ability to work as a team member
  • Organised with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Have the ability to develop student’s personal and academic skills.
  • Ability to synthesise information, make decisions, take responsibility for the successful completion of projects
  • Ability to produce work to a good standard of accuracy
  • Intellectual capacity to challenge and develop students at FE level
