Oaklands College are seeking a self-motivated and innovative Lecturer to teach on our RSL in Music Practice (Level 3), RSL in Music Technology (Level 3) and Music Level 2 courses and possibly Higher National Diploma in Music courses. We are looking for an enthusiastic lecturer who has strong organisational and communication skills required to co-ordinate these programmes.

You will be an experienced musician and required to provide some instrumental tuition to both level 2 and 3 learners as well as teach practical and academic units as required by the courses.

The ability to play and teach a second instrument is desirable though not essential.

You will also be expected to have some experience of Music Technology and be able to teach across a variety of units throughout our Music and Music Technology provision.

You will use our newly upgraded music facilities with the latest digital technology and music software programs including Logic and Pro Tools.

The ideal candidate will have proven teaching experience and have a recognised teaching qualification. In addition to teaching across the Music and Music technology units you will be required to take an active part in the delivery of functional skills (Maths, English and ICT) up to level 2.

You will be actively involved in the internal verification process and preparing the department for external verification.

You will also take a creative lead on a range of subject specific enrichment within the Music Performance area, providing a range of performance opportunities for students as well as arranging trips and guest lecturers.

We are fully committed to our Music provision and have dedicated areas including a fully equipped recording Studio and rehearsal rooms. We also have a dedicated Mac suite with Logic and Pro tools software.
