SENDCO Co-ordinator – Additional Learning Support

About the ALS department:

We’re proud of the successes of our Additional Learning Support (ALS) area. It has a focused and dedicated team of staff who help us achieve our mission of delivering a high quality training and education service to a cohort of students with complex needs and in receipt of Educational Health and Care Plans, as well as students with additional support needs such as ADHS, Dyslexia, Asperger’s, SEMH and physical impairments.

About the role:

As a Co-ordinator of the Additional Learning Support service, you’ll ensure the SENDCO function continues to excel through the effective management of staff resources and budgets, as well as planning and co-ordinating support assessments and implementation. You’ll also offer advice to facilitate high quality teaching by giving recommendations for inclusive ways of working with high-needs students in the classroom.

More about you:

Alongside your experience of working with high-needs learners and knowledge of DDA legislation, you should be able to showcase an invigorating leadership ability as well as a proven history of identifying, delivering and reviewing planning support in a similar environment. If you’re already a qualified teacher, that’s great but don’t worry if you’re not as we’ll support your professional development through our Programme of Excellence. There will be an expectation to work towards your SENCO qualification if you have not already attained this.

This is a part-time role, working 18.5 hours per week. The actual salary is £14,057 - £14,911 per annum.
