Summary of responsibilities

Responsible for:

  • Leadership of FP&A, finance systems and business partner functions.
  • Financial and commercial insight for operational colleagues.
  • Produce budget, forecasts and statutory accounts.
  • Cash forecasting and liquidity management.
  • Ownership of Financial Regulations and Financial Policies and Procedures.
  • External financial returns – ESFA, HEFCE, LEP, VAT, Office of Statistics, Charity Commission and FCA.
  • Continuous finance and commercial process improvement.

Principal Role Duties

  • Ensure effective leadership of FP&A, Business partner and system service.
  • Provide clear financial information to internal customers to help improve business performance.
  • Produce and develop monthly business performance pack.
  • Produce approved budgets and forecasts.
  • Forecast cash balances and manage borrowing and investment activity accordingly.
  • Support successful implementation of Finance Transformation project.
  • Improve the financial and commercial MI/ planning processes.
  • Responsibility for production of business cases - capital, projects/investment assessments and post implementation ROI’s.
  • Responsibility for preparation of statutory accounts and external returns.
  • Ensure development of, and compliance with, financial regulations and procedures.
  • To ensure compliance with college auditors, HMRC, funding bodies and other stakeholders.
  • Contribute and lead ad hoc financial projects as required.
