The Manchester College is based at many sites across the city, each with its own specialist cutting edge facilities within a friendly and supportive environment.

We are the largest FE college in the UK providing education and training to a wide range of learners.

As part of the Sports and Public Services team within the larger Sport, Public Service and Care Profession, you would be joining a highly successful team with a grade 2 in a recent Internal Quality Review.

With this in mind, we currently have a vacancy for a Sports Tutor to teach across BTEC and NCFE sport programmes at level 2 and 3. It is also expected that there will be some delivery of part of a new exciting course 'Supporting the delivery of Physical Education and School Sport'.

The amount of Level 3 teaching will be dependent on the expertise of the applicants and decided after interview. We would be very interested in hearing from candidates with recent experience of teaching in schools. The post will require both classroom and practical delivery, and the following of assessment procedures in line with awarding body requirements.

In order to do this, you will need:

  • Must have a teaching / assessing (as appropriate) qualification and subject specialist qualification at Level 4 (Level 5 - new standards) with a commitment to obtain the relevant outstanding Level 4 (Level 5 - new standards) qualification within a specified time scale.
  • English & Maths - must be qualified to a minimum of Level 2
  • Track record of effective teaching in delivering in subject specialism
  • Plan, lead and develop the curriculum area within the establishment to ensure compliance with the national curriculum framework, the integration of functional skills, best practice and quality targets.
