An important element of achievement for learners with severe/moderate learning difficulties is the enthusiastic delivery of basic skills and vocational options, ranging from Pre Entry Level to Level 1. We are looking for a lecturer who can inspire and motivate these learners undertaking a two-year full time programme of studies within our Supported Learning Department.

The programme is for learners aged between 16 – 24 years of age who feel they need additional support and guidance before moving onto another programme of further education, training or work. Although the programme does have practical elements such as Life Skills and Sports/Community Access, emphasis is also placed on personal and social education, use of community services, information technology, functional literacy and numeracy, the development of employability and decision making skills.

You will be required to deliver a range of subjects both in the classroom and the community, including Functional skills and ideally have experience of teaching Drama and Music. Students range from pre entry to Level 1 with a range of learning difficulties and disability’s.

Applicants must hold a Qualified Teacher Status, be experienced in working in this field, use learner centred learning and teaching strategies, but above all else have a clear understanding of the EHCP process and the need to deliver high quality learning that addresses individual Outcomes.  Above all you would need to have a strong desire to offer learners a positive educational and life experience.
