Following the introduction of the new college strategic plan in March 2017, with a significant focus on embedding the development of students’ understanding of progression routes into our delivery of education, we are seeking to appoint a Careers and Employability Lead to build relationships with employers and to shape how Careers and Employer engagement is carried out at the College.

You will have working knowledge of the employment landscape and best practice as well as being comfortable building relationships with a broad range of people including academics, students and professional staff within the college, as well as able to influence and develop external partnerships.

You will need experience with hands on delivery regarding placing students onto work placements and careers guidance. Supported by a team Careers and Employability Officers, you will be responsible for a broad suite of Careers and Employability services including, work experience coordination, development of students’ employability skills, developing new external partnerships and to maintaining existing partnerships with businesses and other relevant organisations.

The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level and have, or be working towards QCF Level 6 in Careers Guidance (ideally QCG) and have recent experience working in a farther education careers related role. You must be able to demonstrate leadership and communication skills, and able to work closely with managers and the senior leadership team to deliver the College’s strategic aims and objectives.
