Student Intervention Officer

About the department:

The remit of our Student Experience department is diverse and can range from attendance support activities to delivering employability programmes. There is a wealth of experience in all the team and we work together cohesively to ensure the best outcomes for students.

About the role:

We aim to develop independence in our students, but we also recognise that young people might need some support and guidance along the way, and that’s when our Student Intervention Officer steps in.

It’s a front-line, desk-based role which is pivotal in embedding high standards and expectations with the student community. Day to day this will involve responding to student issues and breaches of standards and deciding on the most appropriate approach to resolve situations or concerns which could involve referral to other College services or staff.  You’ll be a key point of contact for all staff and work with them to ensure cohesive support for students and offer early intervention solutions which will raise the level of student engagement.

In essence, the role of Student Intervention Officer supports our culture for learning by ensuring readiness to learn and preparing for the work place.

More about you:

We’re looking for someone with experience of working within a post 16 education environment, who is solution focused and able to successfully engage with people in a variety of settings. You’ll have a high level of organisational and administration skills and be able to use your initiative to respond to situations and recognise issues impacting on retention and achievement.

It goes without saying that you’ll be educated to a good standard, be capable of working in a team and of leading staff to successful outcomes.

See what we have to offer and come join us. You won’t be disappointed.
