Adaptation of Materials Coordinator

Permanent, 37 hours per week, term time only 40 weeks per year

Working within the Disability Services and Additional Learning Support team you will manage all aspects of the Adaptation of Materials Service provided by the Disability Services and Additional Learning Support Team, providing guidance and leadership to staff.

This will include taking an active role in transcribing materials into Braille, large print or tactile diagrams as appropriate. You will also provide direct support to students with visual impairments and other service users on programmes of study.

You will have substantial experience of adapting materials for use by pupils/students who have disabilities and/or learning difficulties. Some experience in supporting students who are visually impaired or blind in post-16 education is also essential.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are vital as the post holder will need to work efficiently and effectively with colleagues within the Disability Services and Additional Learning Support team as well as with a wide range of cross-college staff.
