Study Skills Tutor (0.6) – Term Time Only

Ravensbourne is exceptional. A world-class digital destination developing talented individuals and leading edge businesses though learning, skills, applied research, enterprise and innovation.

We are based at Greenwich Peninsula in an iconic building next to The O2. Our aim is to become a portal for talent across London driving growth in the knowledge economy and creative industries.

We are looking for a self-motivated and adaptable individual who will be responsible for widening participation and promotion of social mobility by providing strategy-based support for our increasingly diverse student body, which include students with a wide range of study support needs and specific learning difficulties (SpLDs).

Reporting to the Senior Study Skills Tutor, and working closely with Associate Deans and Course Leaders, the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering an annual programme of face to face study skills workshops together with appropriate and effective one to one support tuition to students, some of whom may have SpLDs such as dyslexia and dyspraxia as well as other disabilities, and creating associated online learning resources. The study skills support tutor will ensure appropriate academic support provision for all students at Further Education level.

The successful candidate will have a degree or equivalent preferably in an Art & Design, Technology or Communication Media discipline as well as a teaching qualification.

A professional qualification relevant to working with study support needs or specific learning difficulties would be an advantage.

NQT’s welcome.

The successful candidate will be expected to work 21 hours per week x 36 weeks per annum (term time only) - to cover Pre-Foundation, Foundation, and Access terms.

Closing date: 11pm on Wednesday 19 July 2017
