0.6 Senior Lecturer BA (Hons) Textile Practices
We are a distinctive, creative and supportive learning community of practice, working in contemporary art, design and media, across a strong portfolio of higher education programmes, which include BA, MA and MFA level awards, as well as short and bespoke courses and services for creative business and creative apprenticeships.
We are seeking to appoint a 0.6 Senior Lecturer BA (Hons) Textile Practices who will take a leading role in delivering, reviewing and shaping the recently validated BA (Hons) Textile Practices programme in collaboration with the programme leader for Printed Textile Design and Surface Pattern. You will be directing and managing a team of highly skilled and motivated staff, and helping to enhance and raise the profile of Textile Practices at Plymouth College of Art at regional, national and international levels.
As a successful candidate you will:
- Evidence strong and active engagement and a professional profile in national and international subject networks / research / practice.
- Have a background in one or more of the following; textile art, sculpture, multimedia textiles, knitted or woven textiles, material manipulation, tapestry, fibre construction.
- Have a distinguished professional track record in relevant disciplines and materials and an excellent awareness of the contemporary professional fields, their key trends and issues in relation to contemporary textiles for fashion, interior or art installation.
- Be proactive, inspirational and highly motivated with demonstrable experience of innovative teaching and successfully planning and co-ordinating modules and/or programmes of study and teaching teams.
