Based in beautiful Scarborough on the North Yorkshire Coast, Yorkshire Coast College is a small friendly college, part of the Grimsby Institute Group which is a large, innovative, and financially sound organisation. We are officially “good” and aim to be an “outstanding” educational provider in the next two years.

We are looking for a committed Distance Learning internal Moderators to join Yorkshire Coast College at an exciting moment in its development. The College is currently preparing for its move to a new campus and will be undertaking a rebranding exercise as part of the move, which will see us become Scarborough TEC.

We have recently added a range of NCFE Level 2 courses to our Distance Learning portfolio and require Internal Moderators to assist with the moderation process.

The position is home based, with a requirement to attend 1 standardisation per term at Scarborough TEC in Scarborough.  Moderation work is carried out via our internet based system, E-Assessor.

Qualifications required

All internal moderators are expected to meet the NCFE Occupational Competence Guidelines for the qualification(s) you will be moderating on and hold a minimum level 3 or equivalent in the subject area

  • 2 years experience as an Internal Moderator is desirable
  • Moderators must hold a relevant IV qualification

NCFE Level 2 Certificate subject areas required:

  • Understanding Autism
  • Principles of Dementia Care
  • Understanding the Care and Management of Diabetes
  • Understanding Dignity and Safeguarding in Adult Health and Social Care
  • Principles of End of Life Care
  • Principles of Prevention and Control of Infection in Health Care Settings
  • Principles of working with Individuals with Learning Disabilities
  • Awareness in Mental Health Problems
  • Understanding the Safe Handling of Medication in Health and Social Care

Payment is £15.11 per unit, allowing 1.5 hours per unit.
