Tutor/Assessor in Carpentry

Based in the Apprenticeships and Subcontracting Department, you will teach, assess and support students to fulfil their course assessment requirements. This will involve up to six hours of teaching per week, advising students on the NVQ course requirements, assessment planning, assessing students in the workplace and liaising with staff on their progress.

The main responsibilities of this role are to deliver underpinning knowledge to learners and to assess and support them to fulfil their course assessment requirements.  Tutor Assessors will have the opportunity to work with learners across a variety of programmes of study. Tutor Assessors will work with groups of learners or individual learners depending on the programme of study. This interaction with learners may take place at one of the College’s campuses or in the learner’s workplace.

Appropriate NVQ level 3 or 4 professional qualifications and experience in teaching and the Assessors Award are essential. A Verifier’s award would be an advantage but is not essential.
