Accounting Tutor

Full-time Accounting Tutor (fixed term 1 year) – starting 1st September 2017
Foundation/A-level Accounting (Business, Economics desirable)

Based on the University campus, Surrey International Study Centre (SISC) offers Foundation courses and prepares international students for entry onto the first year of their chosen degree courses at the University of Surrey.

SISC is seeking to appoint a engaging teacher to join their high performing team. The individual appointed will have the opportunity to teach at Foundation level and to contribute to the on-going development of the International Foundation Year pathways. Candidates should be keen to develop their skills and collaborate with others.

One of the main duties of this role will be to design teaching materials and to deliver units using appropriate teaching, learning support and assessment methods. The candidate will be required to hold a recognised teaching qualification and have recent experience of teaching relevant subjects they are applying for. Candidates will also be expected to have tutorial experience, working in both large and small group settings.

Experience of teaching international students plus proficiency in the use of interactive technologies is an advantage.

The units to be covered would be taught full time for up to 25 hours per week and the tutor would be expected to work a full 37.5 hour week in centre. The appointment will be subject to receipt of satisfactory references and an enhanced DBS check.
