We are looking to recruit a highly motivated teacher to deliver a range of Horticulture courses to Secondary School groups at Hadlow College. The successful candidate will need to have experience in teaching 11 – 16 year olds in Horticulture, Science, Environmental Sciences or a related field. Professional experience in garden retail, hard/soft landscaping or amenity horticulture is highly desirable.

In addition to the requirements detailed above, the ideal candidate will have teaching experience in a practical and/or classroom setting, together with a teaching qualification.  Courses at the College are delivered across a range of provision types including schools, FE and HE, so applicants will also need to demonstrate that they can be adaptable, resourceful and resilient, have excellent communication and IT skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.

This is a part-time position. There may be a requirement to travel between the Hadlow site and our Mottingham and Canterbury Campuses.

As well as a contributory pension scheme, health cash plan, salary sacrifice scheme and free car parking, this post also attracts 7 weeks holiday each year, pro rata (excluding bank holidays) and 3 additional statutory days designated by the College ( but usually taken over Christmas).
The successful candidate will be required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Check (DBS) and to provide proof of their right to work in the UK.  Where applicable a prohibition check will be carried out.

Hadlow College is an equal opportunities employer and positively encourages applications from suitably qualified and eligible candidates regardless of sex, race, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, religion or belief, marital status, or pregnancy and maternity
