Here at Hadlow College we have a thriving Agriculture department, teaching a wide range of levels from Schools students through to Further Education. We now need to recruit new and highly motivated Lecturers to join the Agriculture team, to deliver these courses at our main site in Hadlow. The successful candidates will need to be educated to at least Level 3 and have strong practical experience of working in the industry.
You will need to demonstrate sound practical experience in an agricultural/horticultural environment and ideally will have some teaching experience in a practical/classroom setting. The successful candidate will need at least three years’ relevant experience in industry. A level 2 qualification (or equivalent) in numeracy and literacy is essential. The College will support new unqualified lecturers with a reduced teaching commitment in their first year. Those staff will receive a bonus of £600.00 in the third year and £750.00 in their fourth year, providing they have successfully gained their full teaching qualification at Hadlow College.
Candidates will also need to be adaptable, resourceful, reliable and resilient, have excellent communication and IT skills and the ability to work well as part of a team. Qualifications A1/A2 (D32/D33) would also be an advantage.
There are currently both part time and full time roles available. As well as a contributory pension scheme, salary sacrifice scheme, health cash plan and free car parking, these posts also attract 7 weeks’ holiday each year, (pro rata for part time), excluding bank holidays.
The successful candidate will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and provide proof of their right to work in the UK. Where applicable, a prohibition check will be carried out.
Due to the volume of applications we receive it is impossible to inform all applicants if they have been short listed: therefore if you have not heard from us within 14 days of the closing date you can assume that you have not been successful.
Hadlow College is an equal opportunities employer and positively encourages applications from suitably qualified and eligible candidates regardless of sex, race, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, religion or belief, marital status, or pregnancy and maternity.
