Library Services Assistant

We are looking for a self-motivated, enthusiastic and adaptable individual who will be responsible for ensuring they deliver the best possible service and highest level of customer care and focus at all times in the Study Zone as well as supporting the Head of Learning Resources and Library Services Co-ordinator in the development of the service.

The Study Zone is an extremely busy, front facing service and the post holder will be expected to manage and prioritise their workload accordingly whilst remaining focused on the stakeholder and their needs. The post holder will be responsible for providing support and advice to students on finding and using resources, promoting the service through creating content for the intranet and delivering student inductions, and maintaining a welcoming and productive learning environment for students. The position will occasionally require the post holder to work alone in the Study Zone.

The successful candidate will have experience of working within a customer-focused environment, and previous experience of working within libraries or the education sector would be beneficial.

The role will be required to work a variable work pattern in accordance with the agreed opening hours of the Study Zone, normally to start no earlier than 0800 hrs and to finish no later than 1900 hrs, in order to provide the appropriate cover for these services.
