About the College

Worthing College is a popular college with over 1600 students. Our mission to provide Opportunity, Achievement, Success and Progression is underpinned by our strong desire to become outstanding. We believe teaching and learning is the most important priority for all staff and students and the quality of teaching and learning and students’ achievements are the most important measures of College performance.

Background to the Post

This is an interesting and varied opportunity to learn a wide range of administrative and data entry/analysis skills in a team which plays a key role in supporting students and staff. The person appointed will be able to develop excellent customer service skills, administrative and organisational skills and learn about how a high quality service is provided within a busy college environment.

The team has a wide range of responsibilities and can also provide opportunities for applicants particularly interested in data entry and analysis.

Duties will include assisting with the organisation of examinations and with events relating to the team such as parents/carers evenings and progression events, producing letters and other documents, taking notes of meetings and producing minutes, photocopying, filing, working on the reception desk dealing with student enquiries, and using e-mail.

Positions are available in both the Marketing department (x1) and Student Services (x1).

Apprenticeships

The Apprenticeship scheme provides unqualified staff with the chance to gain a nationally recognized qualification. Apprentices in roles such as these work towards a Diploma in Business Administration, but an alternative subject could be considered. The apprenticeship will normally remain in force for at least 12 months or until the apprentice has completed the relevant qualification(s), whichever is longer. Training, assessment, induction and ‘on-the-job training’ will be provided by Worthing College including team members, as relevant.
