Lecturer in A Level Maths

If you love maths and understand how this subject can open doors for young people, maybe you should consider teaching at Wakefield College?

Graduate Trainee applications are welcome.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing team of highly committed and experienced ‘A’ level teachers who have a proven track record of success.  The post of Lecturer in ‘A’ level Maths is offered within the Sixth Form at Wakefield College, situated in the newly refurbished City Campus close to the historic city centre of Wakefield.  As a member of the Sixth Form, you would be joining a team of professional, dedicated and enthusiastic teachers in a positive and supportive environment where staff enjoy a good sense of camaraderie and have high expectations of themselves and their students.

We are looking for an outstanding teacher of A level Maths, with a good track record of success, to teach and coordinate the AS and A level Maths and Further Maths classes. ‘A’ level Maths is currently taught using the Edexcel specification but the new post-holder would be free to choose the specification they feel most suitable for the new intake of AS students.

Wakefield Sixth Form has a strong academic ethos; working towards excellence for our students and helping each individual to achieve their full potential. We are looking for a professional who is passionate about teaching and learning to inspire our young mathematicians and help them achieve their goals.

All full-time students in the Sixth Form have a personal tutor who offers support and guidance throughout the programme and is responsible for monitoring the overall progress of their tutees.  As a member of the A level team you would be a personal tutor to a group of about 20 students.

Wakefield College will support your professional development through our Programme of Excellence, therefore a teaching qualification is not an essential requirement of this role.
