Variable Hours

The Programme Area of Visual Arts & Media consists of Art & Design, Photography and Media provision.

We are seeking a candidate to use their Photography experience to teach the next generation of industry practitioners.  This role will combine providing high quality teaching, learning and assessment in the College with the opportunity to push the learning provision in new directions.  You will be predominantly working in the Art & Design (Photography) provision with Level 3 learners.  We teach a broad range of photography skills, looking at both wet and digital processes, dark room, experimentation, studio and location shoots and Photoshop application.  The applicant would need a skill base that encompasses all these, and an understanding of a broad range of materials, techniques and processes.  Additional skills in Media and Web Design are preferably.

You must hold a qualification in Photography, preferably a Level 6 (Degree or equivalent) however a Level 3 qualification with extensive proven industrial experience will be suitable.

You will preferably have teaching experience on Level 3 BTEC courses. Experience of course management, marking and assessment is also desirable. It is also essential that you have a PGCE and/or relevant teaching, or are willing to study to achieve this.   In service training can be arranged if necessary for graduates without a teaching qualification.

We offer a secure package including funded teacher training, competitive salaries, generous paid holidays, an employer pension contribution plus access to a healthcare scheme. The College’s Teaching and Learning Hub is also accessible with dedicated Advanced Practitioners who provide support to our Lecturers.

For an informal discussion, please contact Tim White on (01205) 365701 Ext 4414.
