We have a great opportunity at HMPYOI Wetherby to join the education team as a Trainer in Bicycle Maintenance on Permanent, Full time basis (37hrs per week).

HMYOI Wetherby in West Yorkshire is a custodial establishment for Young People, aged between the ages of 15 and 18. There are currently around 280 young people in the YOI with an operational capacity of 320. All young people work towards English and Maths qualifications, as well as ICT, PSD, and vocational pathways, which include construction, creative arts, hospitality and catering, business administration, industrial cleaning and horticulture. We also offer an Advice and Guidance service, which helps our young people with post release opportunities. 

The purpose of this role is to deliver high quality vocational training to our learners up to a level 3 standard on Bicycle Maintenance You will have exceptional knowledge on cycle servicing and maintenance with great training skills and the ability to engage with our young people. We are looking for someone with business acumen who can spot an opportunity and turn this into small business. This is a challenging but rewarding role and we need someone who is flexible and resilient, with the ability to encourage, engage and motivate children and young people, giving them the chance of a brighter future.

In order to do this successfully you will need to:
-Have experience in your vocational specialism and the ability to deliver this to children and young people in an engaging and effective way 
-Hold an EAL Qualification, Engineering qualification or bicycle maintenance qualification
-Have or be willing to gain PTTLS within six months
-Have or commit to gaining a subject specific qualification to allow you to train to Level 3 within two years
-Have a commitment to gain an assessor award required by relevant Awarding Bodies within one year
