Research Assistant – Sport

An exciting opportunity has arisen to continue to work on a research project for the Royal & Ancient (R&A), examining factors which affect women’s, girls’, and family participation in Golf. This study will help shed light on a variety of important aspects of golf participation by bringing together, for the first time in one place, all the academic and industry research that has been conducted surrounding family sports participation. It will seek to define what being “family friendly” means for golf clubs and offer practical recommendations which can easily be actioned by all involved. The work directly builds on the R&A’s global strategy on increasing golf participation and supporting golf clubs in this process.
To undertake research-related tasks to the standards and objectives of the research project, which will include literature reviews, development of questionnaires and conducting surveys. It is essential that you have an Undergraduate Degree (or equivalent) in a Sport related discipline and GCSE English or maths at Grade C or above (or equivalent). You will also need previous experience of independent research, gained through degree level study or equivalent and qualitative research experience.
