Leeds College of Art has played a central role in providing specialist education in the arts for 170 years and has developed a national and international reputation based on the achievements of our students. This is an exciting and dynamic time in our strategic development following the Privy Council recently granting us Taught Degree Awarding Powers and we are now working towards becoming the first specialist arts university in the North.

We wish to appoint a Course Leader to take the academic and operational lead of the new BA (Hons) Comic & Concept Art. Working with the Programme Director of the directorate, the Course Leader will be responsible for writing and developing this course as well as the planning, delivery and organisation. Acting initially as the Level 4 Year Leader as well as Module Leader responsible for the quality and enhancement of the learning experiences within specific modules across the course, the Course Leader will work closely with the course team to support the general student experience. Applicants must be able to demonstrate independence and competence in leading and managing at a similar level and have the ability to teach at all levels within the overall curriculum.

Educated to a minimum of Masters Level, you will have significant knowledge in contemporary illustration for comic and concept art as well as expertise in preparing students for careers in a range of roles within the creative industries. You should be able to demonstrate a level of experience in managing curriculum across all levels of undergraduate study and be prepared to support the integration of theory and practice through dissertation supervision at level 6.
