Are you skilled in Electrical Installation, or are you an Electrical Engineer or Manager with an Electrical Installation apprenticeship background?

Are you looking for a change in career and a chance to pass on your knowledge? 

We are seeking a self-motivated, reliable person, who has the desire to pass on their passion for their subject to the next generation, to join our team at UHI Inverness. You do not need to have a teaching qualification to apply as training will be provided, however some experience of instructing or teaching is welcome. Certainly you should possess effective interpersonal skills and have good IT skills in applications such as MS Office and other relevant subject related software packages. Using an innovative approach, you will deliver Electrical Installation and, if qualified to do so, Electrical Engineering subjects to a diverse range of students at a variety of levels.

As a professional member of the teaching staff of UHI Inverness, you will be responsible for the preparation of lessons, the teaching of students and the marking and assessment of their work. You will be required to be an effective team member able to deliver a high quality curriculum and educational experience.

To apply for this vacancy, you must be qualified in Electrical Installation as well as to at least HNC level (HNC or equivalent qualification) and have industrial experience.  

Job Purpose:

To support delivery of Vocational, National Certificate and other relevant Qualifications in Electrical Installation and associated subjects. The job is varied and can include supporting students in workshops, classrooms and remotely.

Essential Criteria:

  • Have completed an Apprenticeship in Electrical Installation;

  • Have at least a HNC Electrical or Electronic Engineering, or equivalent qualification;

  • Have relevant industrial experience;

  • Evidence of CPD.

Please note: the successful post holder will need to pass a satisfactory PVG Scheme check through Disclosure Scotland prior to commencing employment.

Shortlisting will take place on Tuesday 18 April.

Interviews will be held on 9 May.
