Teacher A level Art and Textiles

We have a great opportunity based at our Bedford Sixth Form campus for a Teacher of A Level Arts to become a key member of our Bedford Sixth Form department.

As a Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in the success of our students through:

  • Helping students develop their skills and reach their maximum potential through the delivery of courses and contributing to the development of Sixth Form curriculum and student experience.
  • Undertaking an agreed teaching commitment that develops students’ knowledge, skills and understanding.
  • Providing timely assessments, appropriate feedback and recording of students’ progress, development and attainment in order that students understand how to improve their learning.
  • Contributing to the achievement of retention and success targets for courses that you teach.

Our ideal candidates will have experience of up to date knowledge of subject area, syllabus, teaching methods and current experience of teaching A Level, alongside the following qualifications:

  • Degree in a relevant subject
  • Certificate in Education or equivalent in line with the Statutory Instrument
  • English and Maths or similar at GCSE grade A-C or equivalent

Contract Type – Bedford College

  • 37 hours per week (1.0 FTE) / 52 weeks per year
  • Annual attendance – Teachers working at The Bedford Sixth Form usually have an attendance requirement of 39 weeks. Details of this will be communicated ahead of each academic year.
