We achieve outstanding results for our teaching and research and with more than 34,000 people choosing to study with us every year, we depend on the dedication of a team of 2,200 academic and professional services staff.

Financially strong and seriously ambitious we offer our employees a family-friendly, rewarding career with lots of opportunities to progress.

About the role

Buxton and Leek College was recently graded as a "Good" college by OFSTED and has a team of dedicated staff who take pride in supporting learners towards their study and career goals. Our students have access to industry standard facilities, comprehensive support services and benefit from extensive links with the University of Derby. This is a fantastic opportunity to join our team on our journey to becoming an outstanding provider.

We are a successful and established FE College looking to recruit a lecturer to run and manage our on-line Adult portfolio of Digital courses on an hourly paid basis. You will tutor and support the area by supervising adult learners on their courses and assessing and grading their assignments, assisting the learners to understand the nature of their course and level and to ensure the progress to a successful conclusion. You will also be a key member of the IQA team, standardising work and preparing samples for both internal and external moderation when and where required.

The role is ideally suited to candidates who are seeking flexible part-time work and wish to enhance their personal career development.

Our learners are fantastic students who are a pleasure to work with and we offer excellent facilities and resources.  You should have experience and knowledge of teaching and be able to deliver from Level 1 to Level 4.

Interview date - week commencing 27th March

Actual hours and days will be described in a ‘Schedule of Work’.

Please note that unfortunately, this role will not attract sufficient points to obtain a sponsored Skilled Worker visa under the UK Visas & Immigration points-based immigration system; however, applications are welcome from candidates who do not currently have the right to work in the UK, but who would be eligible to obtain a valid visa via another route.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expect everyone who works for us to also share this commitment and to treat people with courtesy and respect.
