IT Technician (LCC3651)

The School of Digital & IT, at Printworks Campus, continues to lead the way for Digital and IT innovations in teaching and learning, and as such is looking for an enthusiastic and forward thinking IT Technician to maintain our IT hardware and support needs. The ideal candidate will be responsible for updating software, maintaining equipment, procurement of consumables and equipment, keeping stock of equipment and assets and also preparation and organisation of class resources and laptops for courses.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• You will support learners in using specialist equipment
• You will demonstrate technology and equipment to students as required by teaching staff to support study programmes
• You will prepare and maintain the facilities and equipment to a high standard and ensure that the area and learners are compliant with all relevant Health and Safety Legislation including COSHH regulations
• You will maintain and organise teaching spaces in relation to curriculum need
• You will Introduce new techniques and technologies relevant to subject area
• You will prepare facilities and equipment for teaching
• You will assist in the delivery of the technical elements as directed by teaching members of staff
• You will order consumables and equipment for curriculum area
• You will oversee the students use of specialist resources and equipment across the curriculum
• You will keep abreast of new technologies, and demonstrate new equipment to students
• You will maintain the department resources ensuring all equipment have logged asset numbers.

YOUR PROFILE

 The ideal candidate will:

• have experience of maintaining equipment, updating software/OS, asset management, and procurement of equipment.
• also be involved in ensuring equipment is set up in teaching rooms where required.
