Associate Director of Higher Education (student recruitment and progression)

With around 2,400 students across our university campuses in Doncaster and Scunthorpe, DN Colleges Group is one of the largest providers of college-based higher education (HE) in the country. Our HE students choose to study with us at all ages and stages of their adult lives and for many, the opportunity is genuinely transformational. Our staff and courses enhance people’s knowledge, confidence and career prospects, making a positive impact on our region’s economy and wellbeing.

The Associate Director for Higher Education (Recruitment and Progression) plays a pivotal role in making this possible. The postholder leads on shaping and supporting people’s experience at key stages of their journey with us: from application; to getting involved in student life; to their career and employment prospects during and following their course. As the lead professional for these areas, you’ll develop and deliver strategies and initiatives to help us create a high quality, holistic student journey. Building on best practice from both the further and higher education sectors, you’ll have the chance to develop teams that work creatively, compassionately and accountably, ensuring people get the most out of choosing to learn with us. You’ll also play a central part in supporting DN Colleges Group to realise its wider strategic ambitions, for example, by helping us set and meet our targets for student recruitment and graduate employment outcomes.

This is an excellent opportunity for a credible current or aspiring leader with higher education knowledge and experience, who is keen to have an impact across several key areas of the student journey. You’ll be a strategic thinker who is also happy to get involved in the practical delivery of projects and activities. You’ll enjoy developing a team and working with colleagues and partners to build relationships that help meet shared goals. Understanding of student recruitment processes, and/or designing effective customer journeys would be beneficial and we are keen to see demonstrable evidence of making an impact in at least one area across student recruitment, engagement and/or careers support. Many of our students come from backgrounds that are underrepresented in UK higher education, and you’ll demonstrate an ability to communicate the full benefits, opportunities, and demands of HE to a wide range of audiences.

This is an exciting time to join the higher education team at DN Colleges Group. We have recently opened a new, state-of-the-art dedicated HE campus in Scunthorpe, we are shaping conversations about the future of higher-level learning across our region, and we’re leading delivery of major national initiatives, including two new Institutes of Technology. You can make a big difference at a critical time. If this role sounds like a chance and a challenge that you can rise to, we would love to hear from you.

It is great to work for the DN Colleges Group, we offer an attractive salary plus many other benefits including DNCG Benefits (access to retail and leisure discounts), cycle to work scheme, flexible working, on-site nursery, health & fitness suite, generous annual leave, development opportunities and pension provisions.

The DN Colleges Group is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All staff and volunteers must therefore be willing to apply for DBS clearance at an Enhanced level.

We are recognised as a Disability Confident employer, Mindful Employer and also positively encourage applications from all ethnic backgrounds.
