HCUC is a large general further education college group, based in the London boroughs of Harrow and Hillingdon, with four campuses at Harrow on the Hill, Harrow Weald, Hayes and Uxbridge. We are very proud of our recent full Ofsted inspection, the first as a merged college group, where we achieved a ‘Good’ outcome overall with many areas, including leadership and management, rated ‘Outstanding’.   We have approximately 10,000 students studying with us – almost 6000 of these are young people, with just over 3000 adults and around 650 apprentices. We are an ambitious college group with a strong work ethos with the ability to respond effectively to local, regional and national priorities to provide a curriculum offer that meets sector needs.

HCUC Apprenticeships and Skills is the area of the college group that oversees apprenticeships, work-based learning, programmes for the unemployed as well as many of our links and partnership work with employers.  Following the promotion of our previous post holder to the role of Principal (Harrow College), we are now seeking to recruit to the post of Managing Director: Employer Services and Partnerships. Our new MD will lead on the college group’s apprenticeship growth programme and position the group as a premier provider of apprenticeships across key industrial sectors. This is the main strategic priority for this post-holder.

This senior leader will have responsibility for the development and delivery of strategies to ensure the college is effectively meeting the training and development needs of local and regional employers, whilst achieving commercial income targets and promoting the college group’s employer facing offer. In addition, the post holder will develop and maintain excellent partnerships which grow the reputation of the group whilst exploiting new opportunities and building on existing successful initiatives and programmes to ensure their continued success.
