Associate - Technician Support in Animal Care

We have a great opportunity based at our Shuttleworth campus for an Associate Technician Support in Animal Care to become a key member of our Animal Sciences department.

As an Associate Technician Support in Animal Care, you will play a pivotal role in the success of our students through:

  • Contributing to the day to day running of the Zoological Education Centre (ZEC)
  • Participating in the care of animals in the centre; to include farm, pet and exotic species (chelonian, snakes, reptiles, amphibians, invertebrates and exotic mammals)

Our ideal candidates will have relevant current vocational experience in the animal care sector and experience of caring for a wide range of animals to include farm, pet and exotic species (chelonian, snakes, reptiles, amphibians, invertebrate and exotic mammals)

, alongside the following qualifications:

  • Level 3 qualification in relevant subject (Animal management/Animal Sciences)
  • English and Maths or similar at GCSE grades A-C or equivalent

Associates work on a short term basis as assigned. They teach or provide support services and they work with and are supported by core staff. As an Associate you will be issued with an Associate agreement, under this Agreement period you will be eligible to work on assignments offered to you.
