A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join our team at the College.

The Role

We are looking for someone with high level technical skills in data centres, storage, servers, networking, communication, security and applications and who can help us maximise IT resilience to ensure business continuity.

You will be responsible for the operational management, administration and support of all server-based systems including VMWare, Windows Server, underlying hardware and key business systems.

In addition to this, you will play an integral role in implementing effective monitoring systems for the college infrastructure, leading on operational relationships with 3rd parties as well as leading on projects related to server-based IT Infrastructure.

You will work closely with the IT Manager – Infrastructure and Applications and other Senior Infrastructure Engineers to develop future plans for the Infrastructure and work to generate costed plans to implement recommendations. You will also demonstrate and provide coaching, mentoring and support for the wider IT Services team.

About you

An appropriately recognised and current IT industry qualification is essential as is experience of working within a complex business systems environment. Experience with Amazon Web Services is desirable but not essential. Someone who is committed to the delivery of excellent customer service to all students, staff and stakeholders would be ideal as we continue to seek to make Nottingham College an outstanding college.

If successful in this role, you will be required to travel to and work at all Nottingham College sites as and when needed.
